Lateral Flow – DNA probes as biosensors on test strips.

Funding: LZMP || Duration: January 2019 – December 2019 || Lateral flow assays (LFA) offer a rapid chromatographic test method that can be used anywhere and without the need for special equipment. Fraunhofer IGB is investigating the use of nucleic acid-based detection methods in LFA format in order to provide a fast point of care test for infectious agents.

Zeitverlauf des Infektionsmodells mit anschließender Virusanalytik (Massenspektrometrie, Viabilität, Titerbestimmung)

Funding: BaWü Innovation project; LZMP || Duration: May 2022 – August 2022 || Therapeutic viruses are currently experiencing a tremendous boom for gene and cancer therapy. However, data from preclinical studies of virotherapies are currently of limited value, as mainly 2D cell systems are used for their analysis. In this project, an infection model for the kinetic analysis of virotherapies is now being established on the basis of a neuronal organoid, which is suitable as a simple, cost-effective and mass-market platform procedure for testing therapeutic viruses.

  • Funding: BMBF || Duration: August 2022 – July 2025 || In addition to establishing a regional STEM cluster in the Stuttgart region, a key goal of the application is to launch a visual campaign to generate interest in STEM topics and to motivate, in particular, children and young people who are distanced from STEM topics to take part in STEM activities organized by us. To this end, the cluster provides a network for stakeholders who work with children and young people, as well as the existing MINTregion Böblingen network, research units and universities of applied sciences in the region.
